three o'clock - sixteen tambourines
didn't really know what to expect with this.
I didn't expect it to sound so 80's or whatever with synths pads, sharp drums and (too)clean production. but it does have the faux brit accents and over the top pop. Nothing here that really blows my mind, but it's nice pop songs with the focus on the vox. sits in nicelywith mighty lemon drops or the candyskins. there really are a number of good songs but I'm not sure there are any real classix and the overall effect is somewhat mediocre. It's tough to listen to this much over the top peppy pop all in a row. i can imagine being really into it in high school!
"jet fighter" is the big rock opener
"and so we run"
"a day in erotica" has a nice chorus and "rio" style synth arrpegios.
"as real as real" is nice enough to mention
"around the world" ain't so bad either
"when i go wild", "marjorie tells me",”when the lightening starts”
all the songs are pretty ok....
