The Legends - Up Against The Legends
Fuzzy, reverb happy, JAMC style pop from the netherlands. No radio dept but they still post some good pop numbers. Sometimes the fuzz and buzz seems less than authentic and a bit heavy handed, eventually getting in the way of the songs. Highlights are "Trouble Love Me","When The Day Is done", but really almost every song is good fun. Samey but fun.

The Soft Boys - Underwater Moonlight
I like the pop side of the the soft boys' power pop. Can't live without the "I wanna destroy you" and "Queen of Eyes". Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. "Positive Vibrations", "Underwater Moonlight" and "Song #4" hold my interest too.

the go team! - thunder, lightning, strike!
Happy and full of DJ gimmicks but pretty darn awesome. Take avalanches, turn down the soul and and turn upthe pop rock. I'll definitely listen to it again and pick some fave trax out.
badfinger - come and get it
album rock! come and get it! why listen to badfinger? i guess i was looking for some pop gems. Not that this is awful, but I'm still looking. Can't mention any partiqular trax to come back to.
morgan geist - unclassics obscure electronic funk & disco 1978-1985
lots of fun but nothing worth coming back for.

Six Organs of Admittance -School of The Flower
Didn't live up to the hype. Chord progressions were often well played, occiasionally interesting but then didn't turn into the songs you(meaning I) wanted them to and often dragged on forrrrevvveeeerrrrr (see "school of the flower"). Liked "Words for Two" , instrumental "Lisbo" and the feedback-over-acoustics of "home".
Beequeen - The BodyShop
found sounds + backward loops + whispered vocals + meandering guitar lines = Totally forgettable

Today... Friday 2/11/05
Charlatans UK - Some Friendly : old fave serves well.
The British Psychedelic Trip 1966-1969 : varied psychadelic moods. Can't deny the tasty shades of motown in Ice's "Anniversary(Of Love)" or the war of worlds food fight narrated by bob pollard soundalike(ala blimps go 90) of "Baked Jam Roll in your eye" by Timebox. Also dig the intro of "Beeside" by Tintern Abbey, i am in love with those cymbals.

Today I Listened To...
Castanets - cathedral : not so hot. Too slick to dragggg. standout track=you are the blood
Fennesz - venice: how do you like your ambient? reverby to glitchy and then back to fuzzy and gurgly please. thank you fennesz. you are very listenable. your droney swirls cover the noise of my office like snow on my unkempt yard. i don't really buy the dramatic singing on "transit", even though i sort of like it. very nice overall.
